Forty trainers from Skills Training Providers (STPs), Qawmi Madrasas and the Department of Youth Development strengthened their capacity to promote gender-responsive and environmentally sustainable technical and vocational education and training (TVET) through a two-day orientation programme on “Gender Mainstreaming and Greening TVET Institutions,” held on 29–30 June 2026 in Cox’s Bazar. The programme aimed to strengthen trainers’ capacity to deliver gender-responsive and environmentally sustainable skills development programmes.
Sessions, facilitated by experts from a public university, the ILO, and partner NGOs, covered gender equality, social inclusion, relevant policies, Green TVET, energy efficiency, waste management, and practical approaches for integrating these concepts into training delivery. As a result, participants enhanced their knowledge and developed practical action plans to mainstream gender-responsive and green practices in their teaching and institutional operations. The programme has strengthened the capacity of participating institutions to deliver more inclusive, sustainable, and labour market-responsive skills training, contributing to improved employment opportunities and resilience for women and youth
